About Me

I adore my city, Omaha. I adore my state, Nebraska. I’ll take a trip to Carhenge over a trip to Stonehenge any day. (For real. I’ve been to both and Carhenge is more impressive.) I grew up on the east coast and moved to Nebraska when I was in elementary school, settling down in Omaha after college. I was educated in private schools but have worked in public schools for my whole career. People often assume I’m a vegetarian but I adore a good Midwestern steak. I’m a goody-two-shoes but I defy all parking laws. I play in a band but don’t party like a rock star. I’m a people person who has a hard time talking to people, and a numbers nerd who majored in English. My whole life has been a study in contrasts, so this project is one more.

At this point I am remaining anonymous on Juxtapose Omaha. When I read blogs, I always like to know that the blogger is a “real person.” However, I am a bit nervous about how some of my posts will be perceived and how that might affect my job if my school district were to look into them. For now I will choose not to share identifying details with the public. We’ll see how it goes.

Im thrilled this is great. “In my own life, strong smart and bold have probably gotten me further along, while nice and kind have gotten me into too many difficult situations. I usually have to fall back on smart strong and bold to get out of those situations.” KUDOS. x
